Un widget google analytics avec Apollo

Labs.thesedays.com vient de sortir un widget de bureau vraiment génial : il permet d’accéder à son compte google analytics pour suivre ses statistiques. Je ne savais même pas que Google Analytics avec une API disponible. En tout cas, cela marche fort bien, les graphiques sont plutôt beaux, et les petites animations d’ouverture et fermeture très esthétiques.

Il vous faudra installer Apollo pour bénéficier d’un tel outil. Tout se mérite.

Question cependant au niveau de la sécurité ; on rentre nos logins et mots de passe : quid de la sécurité de ce genre d’application ? L’appli envoie le tout à l’API du webservice, mais on peut très bien les envoyer à n’importe qui d’autre. Je reste sur le web pour mes comptes pro sur ce type d’application.

Edit : Pas de post dédié pour ca, mais pour les fans du moment d’Apollo, il y a un concours de widget avec l’API de Digg sur techcrunch. Les applis sont bien réalisées, même si j’utilise très peu Digg pour ma part. Voici ailleurs la liste liste des finalistes.

    We understand that security is an important issue. I can give you my word, none of your account-settings are saved or resend. You can also use a sniffer program to track the requests.

    Hi ralf,
    i didn’t intend to involve this wonderful widget in those security matters, i was talking about this type of application (I modified my post on this way).

    I just thought Apollo is a great app but with these category of widgets, we’ll have to trust to developpers : our personnal information may be leaked at any time. I think Adobe is aware of that, but it may be an issue in the future. (and for any use : statistics etc..)

    Etrange, je n’ai rien eu… enfin, peut être avec de nouveaux outils, on peut s’attendre à de nouveaux bugs ;)

    True, security will be an important issue. There will be (when apollo is final) a way to get a certification for your software to ensure it’s safe. (sorry if i misundersoot the intentions of your post, my french isn’t that good :))

    @xavYeah: Do you have mac os? (if so, you’ll need the apollo 1.0.3 runtime)
    If not, could you tell me a little more specific what happens when you click “settings”?
